More information about Howgills Apartments

With five apartments to choose from, there's something perfect waiting for you!
Situated within the Yorkshire Dales and at the edge of the Lake District, our five self-catering apartments are conveniently based within one building.

We are located in the historic market town of Sedbergh, which is a short drive off junction 37 off the M6. Our apartments are a couple of minutes walk from the main high street which oozes an 'old world' feeling with its historic buildings, cobbled alleys and independent cafes, restaurants, shops and artisan market. Sedbergh sits in a valley surrounded by green velvet rolling fells called 'The Howgills', which Wainwright later called 'The Sleepy Elephants'. There are a variety of walks and hikes from the doorstep of the apartments and we provide walking routes. Needless to say some of our Apartments are dog friendly! (ground floor apartments 7 and 8).

Sedbergh is also on the Dalesway route which is an 81 miles long distance footpath from Ilkley in West Yorkshire to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria. Golfing, horse riding, fishing and cycling/mountain biking are also popular depending on your adrenalin requirements! We work with external companies and can also provide 'organised activities' for your stay such a bush craft, ghyll scrambling and caving. Or you might just want to bring a good book and 'soak up' the amazing views! There are many local attractions in Sedbergh and the nearby areas and we can recommend lots of places to visit which can be especially useful for entertaining kids!

Our accommodation is designed to suit everyone's needs - from families and couples through to independent travellers and business guests; sleeping from one up to six guests. We have two group accommodation properties in Sedbergh if you're looking for somewhere to host the whole family or a celebration; Howgills House or Howgills Barn. We offer a base to explore the countryside, the Dales and the Lake District and are a haven for relaxing and unwinding. If you are interested in taking in the sights we are close to the beautiful towns of Hawes and Kirkby Lonsdale, the market town of Kendal and also Ingleton which is known as the "Land of Waterfalls and Caves".

Our apartments are light and airy with ensuite bedrooms, lounge/dining area and fully equipped kitchen.

Free parking is available at the apartments or if you prefer to travel by train we are a 8 miles from 'Oxenholme the Lake District' which is in Kendal. Taxis are available from the train station at a cost of approximately £25. You can access our apartments independently (we issue every guest with a unique access code), giving you the freedom to check in of an evening, at whatever time suits you.

We strive to make your stay as special as possible and please contact us today and let us know how we can help with your trip.

We work with external partners and can offer activities for your stay with us from bush craft to a ghyl scramble!
