The Haystore is one of three luxurious self-contained holiday cottages sitting within a large converted Victorian barn at the foot of the Howgill Fells. The cottages can be booked individually, or together to accommodate larger groups.
Inspired by nature and country luxury with a rustic feel The Haystore, Byre and Carthouse are perfectly positioned to explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Eden Valley.
Each property showcases its own original features and provides a cosy and laid back space with a homely & authentic feel. Renovated to the highest standards the exceptional internal styling has been inspired by nature's textures and colours to offer a relaxed, spacious and luxurious feel throughout.
The Haystore and The Byre both sleep 4 but an interconnecting door can be opened allowing a group of up to 8 guests to stay together. The Carthouse sleeps 6, making it perfect for larger families or groups of friends. The whole property sleeps 14 guests enabling large groups to stay in the same location with the convenience of their own private areas.
The Haystore’s vaulted ceilings and tall stone slate-built fireplace are the stars of the show in this rustic yet luxurious cottage. Immaculately presented and laid out on two floors plus a cosy mezzanine level, there is plenty of space to relax and unwind. An upside-down layout, sleeping 4, with both bedrooms on the ground level, each with full en-suite. The Haystore is dog friendly.
There are beautiful walks from the door whether that be a short stroll to the nearby Paradise Tarm or a full days walking adventure in the surrounding hills. Similarly, the quiet lanes and nearby bridleways offer miles of route options for cyclists too. Owner Richard is a qualified Mountain Leader and offers guided walks and map reading courses to guests.
The local village of Ravenstonedale has 3 great pubs and is about 20 mins walk or 4-5 minutes in the car. The nearby town of Kirkby Stephen is just a short drive and we are also within easy reach of the Lake District and wider Yorkshire Dales.
Week long breaks (7 nights) start on Fridays only. Weekend breaks (3 nights starting on a Friday) and Mid-week breaks (4 nights starting on a Monday) are available outside of peak periods.
