About

Experience Days are a fantastic opportunity to interact with many different species of raptors and owls, as well as providing an over-view of the art and practice of falconry.

Your assigned falconer will provide a fascinating insight into the life and evolutionary specialisations of these precision predators. As well as learning how to handle a bird of prey and tie falconers knot, your day will include you yourself flying our agile team of hawks, who follow on as we walk through the stunning deciduous Lakeland woodlands, fly owls by the shores of Windermere and witness the speed of falcons over the Lakeland Fells.

Under 14 years to be accompanied by an adult.

Pre-booking is essential. All of our adventures are by appointment only.

From Kendal, follow the A591 towards the M6. Bear left towards the A590. At the Brettagh Holt roundabout take the third exit continuing on the A590. At the Meathop roundabout take the second exit continuing on the A590. Take a left turning marked Ayside/High Newton and travel towards the village. From Windermere, travel south towards Newby Bridge on the A592. At the Newby Bridge Roundabout take the first exit towards Kendal. After approximately 1.5 miles turn left at the junction marked Ayside/High Newton. At the road end turn left and travel under the road bridge. Turn left and travel towards the village. How to find Barn Close, travel into the village. After passing only a couple of houses take a left turn into a small lane marked by a no through road sign and a red post box. It is an easy turning to miss as it is slightly set back. If you have dropped down through the village and passed several houses on each side then you have gone to far and need to come back. Travel up the no through road to the end. Barn Close is a cream barn on the side of the road next to a Cherry Tree set in an island. At this Cherry Tree turn right and travel up the track between the houses. At the end of the track there is a field opening straight in front of you. Please pull into the field and park by the wall near the entrance.
