As well as the vibrant city of Carlisle, there are some great towns and villages across the Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall area which are well worth a visit. A bus route connects Carlisle with its nearby towns and villages, while if you’re feeling adventurous you can walk or cycle along the Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail, which begins in Bowness on Solway.
