Right in the centre of Keswick, Brossen Steakhouse is a relaxed place to settle in for good food, a glass of wine and great service.

Established in 2015, Brossen is Keswick’s original steakhouse, with quality, consistency and great flavour at the heart of what we do.

The restaurant has a welcoming feel, with huge wall murals showing off the popular cuts of cow, pig and chicken — handy for anyone who doesn’t know their rump from their rib-eye.

There are open viewing windows straight into the kitchen too, so you can watch the chefs at work while they grill, plate and get everything ready for service.

Steaks are a big part of the menu, but there’s plenty more to choose from, including seasonal dishes, vegetarian options and Indian-inspired food created by our Head Chef, who is originally from India. There’s also a great selection of cocktails and wines to choose from if you fancy making an evening of it.

The name Brossen comes from the local phrase “fair brossen”, meaning comfortably full — which feels pretty fitting for a Keswick restaurant built around generous food and a good meal out.

While we don’t allow dogs in the restaurant itself, you’re very welcome to dine from our full menu in our dog-friendly lounge area.
