About

Learn the skills to paddle a canoe safely and confidently on lakes and flat water rivers in the beautiful Ullswater valley.
We will provide a boat and all the safety equipment you need. Expert tuition and support which will enable you to learn all the skills you need including: efficient paddling, rescues, canoeing equipment and where to paddle. Canoes and equipment will be available to borrow for the course, but participants should bring their own outdoor clothing.

Day 1 will focus on safe and efficient paddling skills in tandem and solo boats.

Day 2 will look at a whole range of subsidiary knowledge and skills and will cover best practice for rescues. This timetable will be subject to weather conditions.
Within that we will have time for some games, some fun and to take in the wonderful surroundings.

Maximum 8 people, £60pp per day. We recommend a 2 day course for most people.

Course tutor is Stuart Lockton, who is a level 3 coach with 25 years experience of coaching and guiding in canoes.
