About

We offer guided adventurous expeditions on foot, by canoe and by bike.

We also train people to undertake expeditions, and also run expeditions across the UK, but mostly in the wilder corners of Great Britain. All expeditions are led by highly experienced, qualified and insured instructors.

Navigation and Wild Camping Training in the Lake District

Learn the skills to wild camp in the Lake District - packing, site choice, tents, cooking, hygiene and all the skills you need to survive and thrive in the wilderness. You will be supported in developing your skills by a professional wild camping expert, the course will involve a mixture of indoor, group and experiential learning including a supported night out wild camping in the high fells.

Canoe Training in the Lake District

For those adventurers who want to gain confidence to paddle in canoes to explore UK still waters independently and safely, this tutored course will give you the knowledge and skills to plan, prepare and travel on lakes, lochs and slow flowing rivers with confidence and safety. We will cover all aspects of planning routes, equipment choice, packing, navigating, travelling efficiently and with regard to the environment. All you need to know!
An additional over-night and day will cover camping on the lake shore and an introduction to river paddling.

Lake District Ridge Walking

Explore the wonderful high fells of the English Lake District. You will be guided by an expert mountain leader and supported to develop confidence and skills to enjoy more challenging and exposed walks. Over 4 days we will explore some of the Lake District's most exciting ridge walks. All participants will be supported to develop their skills and confidence. This could be a stepping stone for you to become a more independent competent hill walker, or an opportunity for you to gain the skills for a more challenging mountain walking expedition. Either way we will encourage you to explore and enjoy the landscape and wildlife of the high fells.

River Expedition Training

With the support of expert coaching, participants will be supported to develop and improve a range of paddling skills including analysis of paddle-canoe-water interactions as well as planning and packing for a river expedition. The coach has over 20 years experience of undertaking advanced water paddling expeditions across the UK.
