Think you know Beatrix Potter? Think again.
A dusty old trunk has been discovered in a house in the Lake District. With the building once being home to Beatrix Potter, builders asked if we might like to take it for the museum. We absolutely said yes, but when it arrived, we found it was locked and sealed with codes and puzzles which we can't solve. We need your help. Can you unlock the hidden history and see if maybe it contains Beatrix Potter's long lost papers on fungi?
90 minutes – 2-4 players – Ages 8+
Once upon a time the Bridge House was home to the Rigg family, and it was filled with the laughter of six children. However, there was a woman watching them and she was jealous, as she could never have a family of her own. As her obsession grew, she managed to lock them in their own home, waiting for the day she could take what she wanted. When the day finally came though, she found the family had disappeared leaving no trace. Now a box has been found that may reveal the mystery, but can you help solve what really happened and uncover the truth?

The Armitt is located in Ambleside just to the north of the town centre and at the tip of the University of Cumbria campus. We are also opposite the main car park off Rydal Road which is where the public should park on visiting as we have no onsite parking except for one accessible space outside the front of the museum.
The Armitt is accessed on main bus routes - 555 and 599 - from Windermere (to the south) and Keswick (to the north). Bus stops are either in the town centre or outside the health centre. The Armitt is just a short walk away.
