About

Welcome to Herdy in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, where you’ll find a cheerful little shop inspired by the characterful Herdwick sheep that have roamed the Lake District fells for generations. Born in this beautiful corner of the world, Herdy is all about celebrating the landscape, wildlife, and wonderful sense of community that makes the Lake District so special.

Step inside our Bowness-on-Windermere store and discover a colourful collection of feel-good gifts, homeware, clothing, accessories, and keepsakes, all featuring Herdy’s unmistakable charm. Whether you’re looking for a unique souvenir of your Lake District adventure, a thoughtful gift for someone special, or a little treat to brighten your own day, you’ll find plenty of joyful designs and playful touches to make you smile.

Herdy’s mission is simple: to spread happiness while giving something back to the place that inspired us. Through the Herdy Fund, we support projects and causes that help protect and celebrate the Lake District and its communities, helping to keep this incredible landscape thriving for future generations.

Our friendly Bowness-on-Windermere team is always happy to welcome visitors and share the Herdy story. The shop is open seven days a week from 10:00am to 5:30pm.

The store is fully step-free and accessible for wheelchair users, with double doors providing easier access for all visitors. We look forward to welcoming you to Herdy in Bowness-on-Windermere.
