About

Welcome to Herdy Ambleside – our newest, largest, and flagship store in the heart of the Lake District. Inspired by the adorable Herdwick sheep that roam our surrounding fells, Herdy is a cheerful Lake District character brand created to celebrate the landscape, and spirit of this special place.

Our Ambleside store offers a wonderful shopping experience for visitors, with our biggest collection of colourful Herdy homeware, accessories, clothing, and gifts all under one roof. Whether you’re searching for a memorable Lake District keepsake, a ewe-nique gift, or something to bring a little joy to your home, you’ll find plenty of feel-good favourites with Herdy’s signature blend of fun, kindness, and cheeky charm.

As our flagship location, the Ambleside shop is also home to the largest showroom of our Herdysleep collection. Discover beautifully crafted mattresses and luxury white wool bedding, made using both Herdwick and British white wool, all expertly made in the UK. Experience the natural comfort, warmth, and quality of wool while learning more about the traditional craftsmanship behind this special collection.

At Herdy, our mission is simple: to make you smile. Through our products and our charitable Herdy Fund, which supports projects across the Lake District and its communities, we’re proud to give something back to the place that inspires us every day.

The Herdy Ambleside Shop is open 7 days a week from 10:00am–5:30pm. The store is step-free throughout, with double doors for easier access, making it accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with mobility needs.

Come and discover Herdy in Ambleside – your perfect Lake District shopping stop.
