About

COVID-19 Pre-Arrival Information available HERE.

Our summer time themed cruises invite visitors to step aboard for a boatload of fun! Visit our website for further details.

Ullswater 'Steamers' is an award winning environmentally accredited Lake District attraction celebrating over 150 years of operating cruises on England's most beautiful lake. We operate one of the largest heritage passenger fleets in the world offering visitors an experience they will never forget.

Excellent facilities onboard and at the Pier Houses. Ullswater runs a serpentine course for eight miles through expansive vistas of Lakeland's highest mountains. Helvellyn at 3,117ft (950m) crowns Ullswater, at the South-Western end of the valley, standing on a mighty plateau approximately 9 miles (14.5km) in length and 4.5 miles (7km) wide. The Steamers provide the perfect opportunity to combine a cruise with some of the most famous and spectacular walks in the Lake District National Park.

The 'Steamers' operate an all year service with varying timetable connections. Cruise times vary from 20 - 120 minutes. The 'Steamers' operate a standard 'Cruise All Piers' ticket which stops at Glenridding, Howtown and Pooley Bridge Piers with some services also calling at Aira Force Pier. There is also a shuttle service between Glenridding Pier and Aira Force during our Red Timetable. Please see website for full timetable information.

Private Charters

Ullswater Steamers are the perfect choice to host your celebration or corporate function on "Englands most beautiful lake".
Welcome your guests aboard with a glass of champagne. This dramatic landscape has inspired writers and artists for centuries, from the gentle rolling hills of the northern reach to the grandeur of the southern reach where the foothills of Helvellyn rise from the lake shore.
Why not combine your cruise with one of the many famous walks in our "walks for all" guides or many of the other attractions in the area to make your celebration or hospitality event complete. Contact us for a charter pack and show around.

Enjoy light refreshments from the Pier Houses with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Free Wi-Fi and commentary app.
