Connecting with nature through creative writing at Wild Haweswater

Join Wild Haweswater's writer in residence Joanna Clare Dobson for an immersive morning of creative writing and nature observation.

Together, you'll be based in the beautifully restored Cumbrian Spinning Barn, and will also spend time in the enchanting surroundings of Naddle Forest. You'll look at ways to connect with wildlife and the landscape, where to find inspiration, and how to use all of your senses to engage the reader.

The session will include written exercises, discussion of short extracts, and the opportunity to share your work (but only if you want to). You'll leave with some short, original pieces of writing, and ideas about how to develop them.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those with more experience of nature writing, whether in poetry or prose.
