To complement our newest exhibition, An A-Z of Beatrix Potter, we are excited to run our new series, Curator Talks. These talks will run over five sessions as we hear from curators involved in taking care of Beatrix Potter's history and memory.

A glimpse inside the V&A's Beatrix Potter collections

The V&A holds thousands of artworks, photographs, manuscripts and books by, or relating to, Beatrix Potter, making it the world's largest Potter archive. Using highlights from several important gifts, this talk will describe the people behind them and show how the V&A's collection gives insight into unusual aspects of Potter's life story.

About the speaker:
Annemarie Bilclough is the Frederick Warne Curator of Illustration at the V&A. She has worked at the V&A for more than 25 years on a variety of projects, from displays inspired by maps and botanical illustration to larger gallery rehangs, such as the museum's Europe 1600-1800 galleries. Over the past ten years she has co-curated several exhibitions, including Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic, Making an Impression: the art of relief printmaking, Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser, and Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature, the last of was in partnership with the National Trust.
