Carlisle is gearing up for the much anticipated return of the International Market.
An open air shopping and food experience that draws thousands of visitors each year. Shoppers will be spoilt for choice with a huge mix of authentic continental treats in the city centre.
More than 40 traders will be taking part bringing an array of global treats to the city centre from unique arts and crafts, fine foods and delis to some amazing mouth-watering street foods.
For food lovers, there will be a tempting selection of continental and international flavours to sample. On offer will be Greek gyros, Chinese, Crepes, exotic burgers and salt and pepper chicken to name but a few, and for those wanting to take the flavours of the world home with them there will be a great selection of fresh foods including olives, cheeses, salami, and handmade breads and cakes baked fresh on site.
Alongside the food offer, the market will feature a variety of craft and gift stalls. Handmade jewellery, Fairtrade wooden furniture and carvings will be available, as well as the well-known Dutch Flowers on Tour, which will bring a large selection of plants, bulbs, shrubs, trees and garden ornaments.
When you're all shopped out you can relax and unwind in a Continental Street Bar with a variety of Continental beers and wine.
The event has become a regular feature in Carlisle's calendar, attracting both residents and visitors with its mix of international flavours and distinctive products. This year's market is expected to offer the same welcoming atmosphere and variety that have made it a popular fixture.
Organised by Market Place Europe, the award-winning International Market is supported by Cumberland Council.
