Guided tour of the Roman fort at Maryport
About
Visitors to the museum can join one of our knowledgeable volunteers for a guided tour around the site of the Roman fort at Maryport. You can discover the stories of the Romans in West Cumbria and the western extreme of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire: Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and you will be walking over rough pasture. Due to the site being on a working farm dogs are not allowed on the tours (except registered assistance and guide dogs). We are grateful to the landowner (Cultural Trust) and their tenants for permission for the tours.
