Did you know we have rainforest in Cumbria?
Join our RSPB Assistant Warden Richard to learn more about this incredible but rare habitat.
After a warm welcome and introduction, you'll take a look at the next generation of baby rainforest growing in our native tree and plant nursery – the largest in the Lake District.
Together, you'll then stroll through the fairy tale-like temperate rainforest of Naddle Forest here at Wild Haweswater, the second largest remaining in Cumbria (after Borrowdale), looking at what makes this magical habitat so special. Along the way, you'll be looking at some of the trees in their winter buds, discovering top tips on how to identify them at this time of year, along with other features of the rainforest. Round off the event with a hot drink back in our Spinning Barn at Naddle Farm, where you'll have the chance to ask lots of questions.
