There is something wonderfully compelling about setting out: leaving the familiar shore, pushing the boat into the water, and discovering what might lie beyond the next headland.
Led by Rev. Mike Green, this two-day Christian retreat at Rydal Hall draws on Arthur Ransome's much-loved Swallows and Amazons to explore adventure, friendship, risk and homecoming through the lens of faith. Ransome's world of boats, islands and maps becomes a landscape for reflecting on discipleship: leaving familiar ground, trusting God amid uncertainty, encountering the unexpected, and returning transformed.
Through Scripture, reflection, prayer and silence, with time for walking, resting, reading and stillness in the beautiful surroundings of Rydal Hall. No prior knowledge of the book is needed.
10am – 4pm each day. To book, visit rydalhall.org, call 015394 32050 or email mail@rydalhall.org.
£320 per person for the two-day retreat. Book online at rydalhall.org, by phone on 015394 32050 or by email at mail@rydalhall.org.
