About

Another Place, The Lake is where hospitality and contemporary comfort combine with views over Ullswater and the fells. With 47 bedrooms, three restaurants, the library and Swim Club; the name given to the spa, with treatment rooms and a 20 metre lake view swimming pool.

Rooms

Woven into the landscape of the Lake District, the hotel's 47 central bedrooms, include several family suites and dog-friendly rooms. Most rooms have views of Ullswater and the fells beyond. Six double-braced shepherd huts with stargazing roofs and log burners, and a treehouse hidden within the oak trees, sit withing the grounds of the hotel. All have their own garden terraces and firepits for marshmallow toasting.

A Victorian style Glasshouse serving stone baked pizza, drinks and cocktails, is the closest building to shoreline.

The hotel's meticulously designed suites feature a high standard of interior design.

This includes the Joules Suite, a collaboration between the British lifestyle brand and Another Place, which features nature inspired homewear, furniture and bed linen by the brand.

Willow cottage is the hotel's two bedroom cottage, recently refurbished, it's interior design carefully thought of and curated by Lynsey Ford, the winner of Interior Design Masters, as part of her prize. Willow cottage brings the outdoors indoors with rustic tones and features sustainably sourced furniture.

Relaxing

In Swim Club there's a warm, 20-metre pool with panoramic lake views, a sauna, treatment rooms, a cardio room and and outdoor wooden hot tub. The ideal place to return to relax after a morning of activities on the lake or a day of adventure in the fells.

Outdoors

The 18 acres of rolling grounds, nestle secluded nooks and lakeshore with it's own private beach and jetty. Stay on your own, with friends or the family, plus the dog to discover adventure and slow living in the Lakes.

Outdoors, plays a huge part of life at Another Place the Lake, in house expert instructors are on hand to take you open-water swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. Or even try your hand at archery. All available in the hotel grounds. Other activities such as walking, sailing and cycling can be accessed from the doorstep of the hotel, even skiing in winter.

Through the year The Glasshouse becomes the base for a series of active breaks including Wild Swim Camp, Pilates and yoga breaks.

Food

Returning from a day on the lake to great locally sourced and seasonally inspired food, is at the heart of Another Place, from more casual meals in The Living Space, to dinner in the lake view Rampsbeck restaurant and summer cocktails on the terrace. The Lake is a place for coming together round a table, or for eating well outside round a fire pit.

The Victorian style Glasshouse serves authentic woodfired pizza for lunch or dinner, Thursday to Monday, with a breath taking backdrop of the fells, as they descend into the lake, beautifully framed, through this timber and glass structure. Yoga, Pilates and swim camps, feast nights and creative workshops are also be held in this flexible space.

Families

Families staying at Another Place the Lake, can make full use of our Kids’ Zone. Ofstead registered and run by childcare professionals, Kids’ Zone includes separate buildings and spaces for different age groups. These areas are purpose made for games, arts and crafts, campfire cooking and making new friends. Sessions can be booked prior or during your stay. Babysitting and baby monitoring facilities are also available.

Throughout the hotel are gathering spaces designed for bringing people together. A place to get outdoors, be active and try something new, and then return to relax, and enjoy great food, in great company.
