About

The Britannia is a traditional 500-year-old Lakeland Inn nestling in the picturesque village of Elterwater amidst the fells of the Langdale Valley. We offer an extensive home-cooked menu served all day together with real ales and fine wines. Stay the night in one of our 9 well-appointed double or twin-bedded en suite rooms.

Leisure club facilities available 5-minutes walk away in Langdale timeshare estate.

Road Directions

From M6 jct 36 follow A590/A591 to Ambleside. From Ambleside take the A593 Coniston road for 3 miles. Turn right at Skelwith Bridge onto the B5343. Take first turn left into Elterwater and the Britannia Inn is on the village green.

Public Transport Directions

Alternatively from Windermere train station take the bus to Ambleside then catch the 516 Langdale bus alighting at the Britannia Inn stop.
