OUR VISITOR ATTRACTIONS AND HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION

Ullswater 'Steamers'

Ullswater 'Steamers' have been sailing on England’s most beautiful lake for over 160 years. Maintaining one of the largest heritage vessel fleets in the world, visitors are welcomed aboard to experience the beautiful Ullswater landscape from the water. The fleet sails a serpentine course for approximately eight miles through expansive vistas of Lakeland’s highest mountains, including the iconic Helvellyn which crowns Ullswater at the south-western end of the valley.

Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

Known affectionately as La’al Ratty which means little railway in old Cumbrian dialect, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is one of the oldest and longest narrow gauge railways in England. Our fleet of heritage steam engines journey from Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the Lake District National Park, to its final destination some seven miles up the line at Dalegarth for Boot station. The journey offers spectacular views over the estuaries and rolling hills with England’s highest mountains forming the backdrop.

Hill of Oaks Lodge & Caravan Park, Windermere

Hill of Oaks is home to a range of lakeside self-catering properties, glamping pods, safari tents, seasonal touring pitches, and holiday homes.
