A warm welcome awaits at our small, friendly guest house.
Lattendales is a traditional slate built Lakeland townhouse situated close to the centre of Ambleside, with views to Rothay Park, Loughrigg fell and Wansfell. A long-established family-run business offering free parking via permit, all double rooms are en suite and include TV, hospitality tray, hair dryer and free WiFi.
Our Lakeland breakfast will set you up for the day, whether you prefer the traditional full cooked, a full vegetarian breakfast or something lighter, perhaps cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt? all personally served in our comfortable dining room.
All produce is locally sourced including free-range eggs, dry cure bacon, Cumberland sausage, freshly roasted coffee and Lakeland tea. Fruit infusions and green tea also available.
With a little notice we'll do our best to cater for any particular dietary requirements.
Ambleside, at the northern tip of lake Windermere is at the heart of the English Lake District World Heritage Site, making the town a perfect base from which to explore the many surrounding villages, lakes and mountains.
Within walking distance guests will find a large variety of shops, restaurants, bistros, bars and two small cinemas which include a live music jazz/cocktail bar.
Local activities include, fell walking, fishing, sailing, cycling, pony trekking and lake cruises. On the edge of town there is a delightful low-level riverside walk where you are immediately in glorious countryside, or take a stroll through the woods to the waterfalls.
For the more adventurous there are circular walks which take in Rydal water, Grasmere and Loughrigg Tarn, with panoramic views of lake Windermere and the Langdale Pikes.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent value for money bed and breakfast, many of our guests return year after year.

By car, from Windermere follow A591 to Ambleside. On arriving in Ambleside you will see White Platts recreation ground on the left-hand side adjacent to the parish church. Lattendales can also be found on the left-hand side, approximately halfway in-between the Church and Zeffirellis cinema. By train, take the main line to Oxenholme 'The Lake District', and change for Windermere. Then Windermere to Ambleside by bus service or taxi is approximately 5 miles.Lattendales is 2 minutes from Ambleside Kelsick Road bus stop. By bus, alight at Ambleside Kelsick Road.
