The Plough is a perfect base for enjoying some beautiful countryside and exploring picture perfect market towns such as Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh and Kendal. Head west for easy access to The Lake District, east for The Dales and Howgill Fells, or south for the Forest of Bowland. Just off the M6, we are conveniently located for breaking up long journeys too.
Our 6 individually styled bedrooms boast luxury and comfort. With family and dog friendly suites, they’re practical too! All our rooms enjoy fabulous bathrooms with both roll-top baths and walk in monsoon showers, to really unwind after a day taking in the best of this wonderful area. With walks from the door you really can arrive, relax, and take it all in.
Our cosy countryside bar with sofas and log fires is waiting to welcome you. Local ales are plentiful, plus a generous wine list, and even cocktails to choose from! Our daily menu is carefully created with local produce in mind, with delicious seasonal specials and all the classic pub dishes we hold favourite. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and children’s options are not overlooked. Even a doggy menu is on offer! Eat in our cosy bar or our beautiful restaurant under the fairy lights. Weather permitting, our garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or two in the evening sun (we live in hope!).
After a blissful night’s sleep, a hearty Cumbrian breakfast awaits to set up you for the day ahead. Perfect.
