About

We make our food from scratch as you would make it at home.

We use real ingredients, sourced locally where possible, from producers we know and trust.

Many of our local producers have supplied us for years. Wild & Fruitful makes our seasonal fruit compotes – try them on our porridge and yoghurt granola pots. We’re also proud to work with More? The Artisan Bakery near Kendal. Their soft sourdough milk rolls, delivered fresh each day, make our burgers and breakfast rolls irresistible.

We cook with Cumbrian lamb and native-breed beef that we raise on our Farm.

Our skilled team of whole-animal butchers makes use of every part of each animal. We roast the prime joints for our Sunday lunches and braise the slow-cooking cuts to fill our handmade pies. And our breakfasts wouldn’t be our breakfasts without our butchers’ own-recipe Cumberland sausages, made with Cumbrian pork.

*Sunday lunch available only at Tebay Southbound*

We make fresh sandwiches, colourful salads and seasonal soups each day.

Our inclusive menus offer dishes to suit all diets and appetites, from light bites to indulgent comfort food. We provide thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options. Please ask our colleagues for advice on allergens and dietary requirements. Children’s portions of our hot dishes cost just £1 when bought with an adult meal.

Our coffee is roasted less than 30 miles away at Carvetii Coffee Roasters in the northern Lake District. Owners Angharad Mac Donald and Gareth Kemble have created a blend uniquely for us using carefully sourced speciality beans that they roast in small batches.

We know you’re sometimes in a hurry.

Our Quick Kitchen is stocked with sandwiches, salads, soups and hot pies made by us. Here you’ll find our famous sausage rolls, warm from the oven and packed with Cumberland sausage meat seasoned to perfection by our butchers.
