About

Great Gable stands to the north-east of Wastwater and offers a variety of climbs for walkers and climbers. It also affords good views of Lakeland crags.
A gentle way to the summit is from Honister whilst for the more adventurous, a more difficult climb follows the Wasdale route. The unusual rock formations of Napes Needle and the Sphinx can both be found on an ascent of this dramatic mountain.
