150ft Cathedral Quarry Abseil
The ultimate adrenaline rush! As seen in Bear Grylls Mission with Warwick Davis
We'll take you on a 25 minute guided walk through beautiful woodland and 17th & 18th century slate mines with their rich history. The destination is Cathedral Quarry - bought by Beatrix Potter in 1929 and donated to the National Trust, it is preserved today for its geological interest as an important part of the local landscape. It is situated close to the village of Coniston. Here you can explore the awesome cavern and tunnels of the quarry. After exploring the quarry we'll make our way to the top where you'll have stunning views across the Langdale valley. You'll have the opportunity to have a few goes at abseiling down the big walls of the 150ft quarry. There are smaller abseils here too if you would like to build up to the big one.
Our friendly expert instructor will be there to help you every step of the way.
