The Old Courthouse Gallery is one of Cumbria’s premier destinations for buying contemporary art and craft. We represent around 120 artists and makers, with hundreds of artworks for sale across three floors. We are renowned for the consistently high quality and wide range of work that we display.
We are not just a paintings gallery – we are just as well-known for our superb glass art, ceramics, sculptures and fine furniture. And with prices ranging from £10 to £10,000 you can be sure that we have something for everyone. Whether you are a collector, a visitor looking for a special piece for your home or someone searching for the perfect gift, we can help you choose. Our gallery occupies the majority of Ambleside’s historic courthouse building. It is a light and airy space, perfect for us to display art to best effect, and perfect too for a tranquil browse if you need a break from the crowds! Our friendy team are always on hand to help with any questions or to chat about the artists and their stories.
