Aspiring classical saxophonist Anna Morley is coming to entertain us

Our series of Afternoon Recitals continues. For today's recital we are delighted to welcome Anna Morley to the Fratry Hall.

Anna is an aspiring classical saxophonist and multi-woodwind player from Carlisle. She has performed nationally at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms with the National Youth Orchestra. She has also been a member of their saxophone ensemble and has featured as a solo soprano saxophonist with the National Youth Wind Orchestra.

Closer to home, Anna participates regularly in ensembles such as the City of Carlisle Orchestra and the Carlisle Youth Concert Band — both of which also perform her original compositions. She is a co-founder of the jazz quartet JAM'D Jazz, which performs professionally across the area.

Following notable success at the Carlisle and District Music & Drama Festival, Anna was awarded the Lanercost Trophy for Musician of the Festival — an achievement that inspired her to complete her ATCL Diploma in Musical Performance.

Anna hopes to pursue music at a higher level and continue to perform in a wide range of musical settings.
