We indulge our obsession with swimming around islands on the Derwentwater Island Hop, and there is no better place in the Lake District to do it. This is one of our swim guides' favourite swim; it's a real adventure, has amazing North Lakes views, and finishes with the best brew in the Lakes!
The islands we swim to are just the right distance apart for a challenging but very manageable wild swim. They just cry out to swim to… you know the feeling?

You can also join us for a full day of swimming and walking on our Adventure Swim Days, or extend your visit with one of our Adventure Swimming Mini-Breaks. For those new to the sport, we run popular Introduction to Open Water Swimming courses, as well as outdoor swim safety courses.
Our outdoor swimming shop in Ambleside is stocked with essential equipment and swimwear, and we offer a wetsuit fitting service to help you find the perfect fit.
