The Howgills Trail Run route explores the rugged terrain of the Howgill Fells, taking runners along a mixture of natural trails, grassy slopes and high-level ridgelines.
From the start, the course quickly begins to climb, rewarding runners with incredible panoramic views across the surrounding countryside and distant Lake District peaks.
The route features a combination of steady climbs, flowing descents and open fell running, creating a course that is both physically demanding and hugely rewarding.
Runners will experience the true beauty of the Howgills as they move through wide valleys and across rolling hilltops, making this one of the most scenic trail running events in Cumbria.
Every section of the course offers something different, from challenging climbs to exhilarating downhill stretches that make the effort worthwhile
