Relax into Weaving (Workshop) with Denise Bryan
£70 Plus £10 for Materials
Come and enjoy a mindful & relaxing day of weaving with Denise on a simple rigid heddle loom. We will weave two pieces of fabric from cotton; one plain & one textured. There will be a range of aran weight coloured cotton yarn from which to choose.
Participants will each have a fully warped rigid heddle loom ready to use, so the relaxation can begin straight away. The workshop is suitable for both those with a litte weaving experience or complete beginners.
During the course you will learn:
Learn how to:
– use a simple rigid heddle loom
– wind yarn onto your shuttle
– complete your fabric ready to be used.
– experiment with colour, and learn a textured woven technique
– understand how to create a shape within the textured area
Please note that weaving on a table loom involves some hand dexterity and upper body movement when using the loom and shuttle. Much of the workshop takes place seated at a table loom for periods of time. We want everyone to feel comfortable and supported during the workshop, so please do get in touch in advance if you would like to discuss any individual requirements or accessibility needs.
