Why not experience a live concert, an evening at the theatre, or a photography exhibition? This is an area packed with arts and culture, and there are plenty of places to discover this side of the county. In Carlisle and Cartmel, you can enjoy a day at the races; while festivals take place throughout the year, celebrating everything from beer to food; music to literature.
Local markets are held in towns and villages across Cumbria: from Sedbergh’s Artisan Markets in the summer months, to Christmas markets throughout the festive season.
