About

Howgills House; a perfect place for people coming together. Meet, learn, dine and stay with fabulous spaces & activities.

When you hire Howgills House the whole house and facilities are exclusively yours. We understand how important privacy and seclusion are. Twelve en-suite bedrooms provide accommodation for up to 20 people and our nearby accommodation at Howgills Apartments and Barn can also be booked to facilitate much larger teams and groups.

Our location in Sedbergh in the South Lakes and Dales is just a 10-minute drive off junction 37 of the M6. Let your stresses and mind unfold as you take in the views and the tranquillity of the countryside.

Howgills House has a spacious living room with elevated windows which look onto the garden and neighbouring fields. Providing a light and airy space for meetings. There’s also a TV room with log fire, a dining room and an upstairs snug, for different breakaway groups. The two hot tubs and outside games den provide spaces to have fun. There are BBQs and a pizza oven for you to enjoy on a summers evening.

There are no rules about catering or corkage. Refreshing! We work with local chefs who will cater for you, or if you have someone you regularly use or prefer then feel free to bring them!  Some groups self-cater too as our kitchen fitted out with commercial equipment provides everything you need to cook up a storm.

Why not have some fun doing some of the many activities which are available too; herd some ducks, hold a murder mystery evening or learn how to make a mojito? We will work with you to arrange everything you need and we can help arrange suppliers, activities or team building instructors and coaches.

There are no hidden extras and what we quote is what you pay, making budgeting easy. Our wifi is b4rn the world’s fastest rural broadband and we offer a whole host of Av equipment to help your meeting go smoothly.

Exclusivity means complete privacy and seclusion for all the team and you get to relax and get on with the important stuff; whether that’s learning, planning, meeting or having some fun.

We’re 5 stars on Google and The Sunday Times listed us as one of the top 20 celebration properties in the UK. Red Bull, Ascentis, World Travel Holdings, Safe Families, Whyaye are just a few of the clients that have recently stayed with us.
