Nothing Lasts – Sue Dawes (15 April – 12 July 2026)
Nothing Lasts presents sculptural ceramics exploring the transience of human achievement. Working with hand-built stoneware crank clay and a low-firing copper glaze, Sue draws inspiration from ancient pottery fragments and ruined buildings to reflect the fragility of humankind. Her pieces are fired in oil drums using reclaimed wood, echoing ancestral firing methods where the flames shape the final outcome. A Manchester art graduate, Sue revisits her roots in historical pottery reproduction through this exhibition. Alongside her ceramics, she includes 2D works—drawings, diagrams, photographs, and written notes—that reveal her creative process.
